For the second time Svendborg Wave have had the privilege of delivering a specialized jacking operation training course to senior personnel on board the newly built wind installation vessel BOREAS, owned by Van Oord in the Netherlands.
As last month the training was carried out by one of our experienced instructors on board the BOREAS. The vessel was alongside the key of Amsterdam conducting the final tests of client’s equipment before talking off heading for Germany for the commencement of operation. We were met with strong engagement and enthusiasm from all participants, which contributed to a productive and enjoyable learning experience.
BOREAS is a self-elevating wind turbine installation vessel, purpose-built for the transportation, lifting, and installation of offshore wind turbines, transition pieces, and foundations. The vessel features four truss legs and a rack-and-pinion jacking system, allowing it to elevate itself above the water surface during operations.
Its upcoming scope of work includes the installation of 104 extended monopiles as part of RWE’s Nordseecluster offshore wind project in Germany.
